Plant Powered Peoria - Potlucks

Plant Powered Peoria is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of a whole food, plant-based, oil-free lifestyle for improved health, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability. Founded in 2022 and now a proud chapter of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s Building Healthy Communities program, Plant Powered Peoria brings people together through educational events, cooking classes, community potlucks, advocacy efforts, and volunteer opportunities.

Our mission is simple: to empower individuals and families to take control of their health through food, to cultivate compassion for all living beings, and to protect our planet—one plant-powered choice at a time.

You will receive a zoom invite link via email the morning of the class, along with additional handouts.

In this class Patti will be teaching three incredible health forward dishes that you can utilize at your upcoming holiday gatherings or simply add to your personal menus as we all embrace a healthier us in 2026.

Based on the Physicians Committee’s successful 21-Day Vegan Kickstart book, this single class sets the tone for participants on a journey toward healthy weight loss, healthy weight maintenance, and an overall healthful and sustainable diet. For some participants, this may be the first time that food choice is prioritized over restricting food amounts as a guiding principle to support long-term health. This is a lifesaving learning experience bolstered by delicious plant-based recipes that help to lower cholesterol, control diabetes, lower blood pressure, and even boost energy and mood. This class features 3 cooking demonstrations, along with handouts of easy and affordable recipes that participants can prepare at home.
